The noise began at the ripe old age of 7, when Carol-Ann was at primary school, learning to play the Tenor Horn under the tution of Jack Burch. Enjoying this, she joined Ballynahinch Silver when she was 8. At 13 years old, five years later, she decended upon Old Park Silver, she discarded the Tenor Horn in favour of the Cornet.
|
Like so many bands, Old Park found themselves having to amalgamate, and they did this with Ashgrove . After a year or so,and not being too enamoured with the resultant amalgamation, she decided to make another move in 2001; this time to give the Flugel Horn a bashing at Templemore. The fact that Templemore was closer to home had no influence on her decision at all.. |

Here at Templemore, Carol-Ann is a member of the present committee and is also the Assistant Librarian. She has occupied various offices since joining, and is still waiting for the wage cheque to arrive ( .....you'll have a long wait methinks). Carol-Ann can also be heard playing with the Friendship Band at various engagements such as the Hillsborough Oyster Festival and welcoming Cruise Liners visiting Northern Ireland.. |
